Allen County Summer
Each year a group known as the "Summer Coalition" works together to schedule and share information on summer youth programs in Allen County. Informational flyers are printed & assembled and packets are distributed to every middle and elementary aged student enrolled in Allen County public schools.
This year's packets will be distributed to schools the first week of May -- extra packets may be picked up at any school office or public library in Allen County.
In addition to the printed packets, information all area summer programs is included HERE on the Bowlus website! A "one stop shop" for parents, grandparents, and other care givers to easily check schedules and find links to information on all summer programs in our community!

For the 18th year, ACC presents Summer Youth Theatre for teens and young adults ages 13 - 21!! Come see the show at the Technology & Theatre building located on Allen Community College's Iola campus. Check out the Iola Public Library's calendar for more details on activities scheduled this summer! Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins on May 30 and runs through July 28. The Summer Reading Program is for ALL ages and abilities. Readers earn prizes!
Tuesday and Wednesday activities are FREE and take place in the Iola Public Library's Meeting Room, located on the WEST side of the building. No registration is required.
12:00-12:30 -- The Summer Food Program makes a stop at the library; free lunch up to 18 years.
12:30-2:00 -- “Teens on Tuesdays” – Activities for tweens & teens ages 10-16 years.

10:30-11:15 -- Storytime for kids ages 0 - 5 years.

1:00-2:00 – Crafternoons for kids ages 6-10 years.

There is so much to do with the City of Iola Recreation Department this summer . . .summer ball teams, swim teams, cheer camp, tennis camp, exercise groups and so much more!!!
The Iola Municipal Pool opens Memorial Day, Monday May 29 @ 1:00 p.m. Season Passes are available at the Recreation Office now through June 9 and Discount Admission Tickets are available through August 11.
Summer meals give you the energy needed for fun in the sun!
Summer meals are available for FREE to all kids ages 18 and under and will be offered at various sites throughout the area. Download the flyer for a listing of locations and dates/times that summer meals will be served. Meals are available for those over 18 years for a nominal fee.

Students will spend the week exploring the wonder of the physical world. They will learn about math, physics, geology, meteorology and astronomy with integration of visual and creative arts.

PERFORMANCE: Saturday, July 1 @ 9:30am (both age groups)

This musical performance is an original musical adaptation of the classic tale featuring up to 60 local local kids entering 1st - 12th grades.

IOLA COMMUNITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is presented by the Iola United Methodist Churches & First Presbyterian Church of Iola.
Open to children 4 years old through completion of 5th grade.

Miss Chelsea's Dance Academy offers classes in a variety of styles of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, cheer and pom. Classes are available for students ages 3 - 18!
