 d life experiences have shaped his world.\n\nThis is exhibit is now open a
 nd will available for viewing through mid-November in the Mary L. Martin G
 allery.  Enter the EAST doors of the Bowlus from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Mon
 day - Friday and follow signs downstairs to the gallery.  The exhibit will
  also be open in the evening hours during Bowlus sponsored events\, or by 
 appointment.  \n\nOn a single lane dirt road in the foothills of Santa Fe\
 , New Mexico\, we came upon what appeared to be an abandoned graveyard\, u
 nkept\, framed by a hillside\, the arroyo\, and a pale blue sky. A wreath 
 of plastic flowers clung to a barbed wire fence. A small wooden cross of b
 urnished blue sat alone in the dust. All with one bright red ribbon on a p
 ost caught in the wind.\n\nMichael Roach exhibited his photography for the
  first time in 1998 in his hometown of Wichita\, Kansas.  He has since con
 tinued to exhibit his works in Wichita and elsewhere in the area.  He was 
 privileged to befriend the Kansas native\, Gordon Parks\, who allowed Mich
 ael to photograph him and his world\, on and off\, for many years.  This l
 ed Michael to accumulate a large body of work which he eventually exhibite
 d at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center in Iola an the Ulrich Museum at Wichita S
 tate University.  His recent work also includes photography from his trave
 ls in Ireland and Greece.  Mike practiced law for many years in Wichita an
 d now serves as Judicial Hearing Officer in the District Court of Sedgwick
  County Kansas.\n\n
