 CSTW centers on a combination of techniques, age appropriate, used to enhance performance skills in both elementary and middle school age students.  The workshop ends with a showcase performance displaying the growth of the students involved.  Workshops are limited to 30 students each on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-enrollment is recommended.

LOCATION:  Iola Community Theater Warehouse- 203 S. Jefferson St. - Iola

WORKSHOP I :  Elementary 3rd through 5th grades - June 10 - June 21, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.

WORKSHOP II : Middle School students - June 10 - June 21,  10 a.m. - Noon

PERFORMANCE DATE - Saturday, June 22 - 9:30 a.m., ICT Warehouse Theater

FEE - $30 per student      DEADLINE Pre-Enrollment - Friday, June 7

Students will be introduced to entertainment, food, arts and crafts with themes tied to Native Americans in Kansas and cowboys of the Old West.  As a special treat, Professor Farquar & Polecat Annie will perform "Echoes of the Wild West," a 19th century style medicine show with music, magic, rope spinning, and Indian games of skill.

Did you ever want to design your own comic book?  Here is a special opportunity to learn from an actual illustrator!  At the Bowlus Center's Comics Crash Course, you will work with noted illustrator Stephen Gilpin to create your own comic book designs and story.  All materials will be provided.

Held in the Bowlus Auditorium

The performance will include up to 60 local children - entering 1st grade through 12th grades - as actors.  Students participate for free!

Auditions: Monday at 12:30 p.m. ~ July 15

Rehearsals ~ Monday through Friday

(as scheduled between 12:30 and 5 p.m.)

Performance:  Saturday ~ July 20 at 3:00 p.m.

Admission to Performance:

$3 per adult/ $2 children ages 5 & up
