Projects Overview

BUSES AT THE BOWLUS

Each year the Bowlus Fine Arts Center provides school aged children the opportunity to see a live performance on the Bowlus stage – free of charge.  Students enrolled in Allen County & neighboring rural school districts (ie: Humboldt USD #258, Iola USD #257, Marmaton Valley USD #256, Crest USD #479, Yates Center USD #366), LeRoy-Gridley USD #245) are invited through their school principals. 

Home school families should call the Bowlus Office at (620) 365-4765 or e-mail Bryan at bryan.johnson@bowluscenter.org for reservations beginning 30 days prior to the event.

Kids Art Camp

Let your child’s creativity shine at our fun-filled Summer Craft Camp! Join Iola High School Alumni, Andi Reynolds, for hands-on projects, new skills, and awesome crafts to take home.

Camp available for 1st–5th grade students.

Monday & Wednesday 1st-2nd Grade, 4-5 PM

Tuesday & Thursday 3rd-5th Grade, 4-5 PM

  • Waters will be provided
  • 20 child limit per class

SUMMER THEATRE PROGRAMS

The Bowlus Fine Arts Center offers workshops in June & July for local and surrounding areas children to participate in.


IOLA READS

IOLA READS is a cooperative project between the Iola Public Library, USD #257 schools and the Bowlus.  Major funding is provided by the Sleeper Family Trust and the Helen Gates Whitehead Trust through the Bowlus Fine Arts Center.
