This is exhibit is now open and will available for viewing through mid-November in the Mary L. Martin Gallery.  Enter the EAST doors of the Bowlus from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and follow signs downstairs to the gallery.  The exhibit will also be open in the evening hours during Bowlus sponsored events, or by appointment.

On a single lane dirt road in the foothills of Santa Fe, New Mexico, we came upon what appeared to be an abandoned graveyard, unkept, framed by a hillside, the arroyo, and a pale blue sky. A wreath of plastic flowers clung to a barbed wire fence. A small wooden cross of burnished blue sat alone in the dust. All with one bright red ribbon on a post caught in the wind.

Michael Roach exhibited his photography for the first time in 1998 in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas.  He has since continued to exhibit his works in Wichita and elsewhere in the area.  He was privileged to befriend the Kansas native, Gordon Parks, who allowed Michael to photograph him and his world, on and off, for many years.  This led Michael to accumulate a large body of work which he eventually exhibited at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center in Iola an the Ulrich Museum at Wichita State University.  His recent work also includes photography from his travels in Ireland and Greece.  Mike practiced law for many years in Wichita and now serves as Judicial Hearing Officer in the District Court of Sedgwick County Kansas.
